CITEF COLLABORATES IN HUELLA DEL METRO PROJECT

jul 02, 2017

Metro de Madrid has launched its Huella del Metro (‘Traces of the Metro’) project in the restored original 1923 ticket hall of Pacífico station. The project launch was attended by Madrid’s Regional Minister of Transport, Housing and Infrastructure, Pedro Rollán.

CITEF has collaborated in the project, developing a simulation of an old-fashioned train inside Pacífico station with its original architectural and decorative features. To do this, CITEF created detailed 3D models of the ‘Cuatro Caminos’ train carriages used on the city’s underground official opening in 1919, as well as of the station itself.

The simulation was created using Unity software and the most advanced texturing and material techniques, with Physically-Based Rendering technology.

Thanks to virtual reality systems, visitors can explore the station and the train, enjoying an extraordinarily realistic visual experience of what the Metro de Madrid was like when it first opened.
