PARTICIPATION IN THE 2015 UIC HIGHSPEED

jul 27, 2015

The ninth World Congress on High Speed Rail, the most important encounter for the high-speed rail sector, was held in Tokyo from 7 to 10 July. The Congress brings together more than 1,200 specialists from around the world to exchange ideas and viewpoints on activity and progress in the industry.

CITEF was represented by its CEO Prof José Manuel Mera who presented an expert system for optimizing the power system design on high speed lines with the dual AC system. The main pillars of this system rest on the ‘HAMLET’ railway simulator developed by CITEF and employed in more than 50 projects in 15 countries and the NSGA-II optimization algorithm.

In addition to explaining the optimization system, the presentation included the development of a real example so that the audience was able to follow the detailed process and see the results of an actual implementation.
