CITEF PRESENCE AT INNOTRANS 2014

sept 29, 2014

The international sector of passenger and freight rail transport gathered at InnoTrans in the German city of Berlin from 23 to 26 September 2014.

At this 10th InnoTrans, CITEF was present via several stands, such as the one set up by Hitachi Rail Europe Ltd. (HRE), which presented the new AT200 train to give visitors an idea of the latest travel experience on regional and commuter rail journeys.

HRE’s activity at InnoTrans also focused on presenting their developments of the European Train Control System (ETCS) and the Communications-Based Train Control System (CBTC), which HITACHI and CITEF collaborate together on.

Hitachi’s stand included two simulators/demonstrators developed by CITEF. The first demonstrated driving using the ECTS Level 2 system in the simulated line between Paddington and Reading stations in the UK. The second demonstrated the Vital Ring CBTC concept that Hitachi Research Laboratory is currently developing.
