PARTICIPATION AT RAILTEX 2015

jul 12, 2015

Railtex 2015 was held from 12 to 15 May at the NEC, Birmingham, bringing the latest railway technology in all market segments to railway professionals. For CITEF, the highlight of the event was the opportunity to demonstrate the new simulator developed for HITACHI Rail Europe.

Known as the VR CBTC, the simulator represents a new CBTC concept that Hitachi is developing in Japan and which includes simulation of all units, both on-board and trackside, the system and its communications. Presentation of the result is fully visual, which enables first-hand knowledge of the technical operation of the system and assessment of its capacity.

Presentation of the simulator was supported by a number of tablets available to visitors that enabled them to drive any of the trains on the simulated lines, sit at the driver’s control console and operate the train in a life-like simulation of the real driving environment. The base scenario for this presentation was a section of the London Underground with sub-sections in tunnels and others in the open air.
